This was one of my favorite paintings the Treasure Houses of Britain exhibit at the Smithsonian back in the 80s. I used to go down to see it almost every weekday at lunchtime.

We named our cat Wriothesely after this line of Earls. My ex-husband was reading Wolf Hall at the time and we thought it was a great name plus this guy (a few Ws after the Wolf Hall guy) was a famous cat lover. I recognized this picture immediately! We called him First Earl of Huntβs Point /1
