I have an XX 46 male DSD.

I got XX on a karyotype test. Male development. Ambiguous male genitalia. Raised estrogen levels.

Now I identify as a trans woman because it’s what works best for me and makes me happiest.

That’s all I can narrow it down to without further testing, which gets expensive is a bit of a slot machine.

The most likely scenario is that a SRY gene translocated onto an X chromosome, kickstarting male development.
I’m unusual to de la Chapelle syndrome in that I’m otherwise female phenotypal.

But that’s how DSD are.
They’re an exception to normal development so they’re frequently exceptional to other DSD’s as well.

Lots of ways that development can go off the normal track. Lots of edge cases.

But it’s the only life I’ve been given so it’s ‘normal’ for me. Kind of a pain though.

All depends on context. Gamete-based definition is critical in some contexts (like sport) but not all. Testing for all contexts isn't viable. Many simply need non-ideological language to underpin established sex-based social norms, and IMO DSD people deserve particular sympathy and latitude.

You seem to understand your condition well & as you say is probably due to an SRY translocation. That does mean biologically male given you have the SRY gene. But certainly an edge case & must be difficult. Doesn't mean humans are not sexually dimorphic ofc.
