In an article on a Freedom from Religion Foundation's "Freethought Now!" website, I defend the biological definition of "woman" based on gamete type.

You are history's greatest monster.
I have a variation of an XX male DSD, so I think that means you see me as male, since my body is theoretically organized for small gametes.
Can you explain to me the social utility of this definition?
I’m asking in good faith. I’ve been curious for perspectives on this.
I got XX on a karyotype test. Male development. Ambiguous male genitalia. Raised estrogen levels.
Now I identify as a trans woman because it’s what works best for me and makes me happiest.
The most likely scenario is that a SRY gene translocated onto an X chromosome, kickstarting male development.
I’m unusual to de la Chapelle syndrome in that I’m otherwise female phenotypal.
They’re an exception to normal development so they’re frequently exceptional to other DSD’s as well.
Lots of ways that development can go off the normal track. Lots of edge cases.
But it’s the only life I’ve been given so it’s ‘normal’ for me. Kind of a pain though.
