More seriously, what is hilarious is that all of these folks seriously underestimate the additional human cost to verify and validate AI workloads. Yes, humans also make errors , but those errors are easier to reason with predict and happen at lower volume of total work.

Even if you assume that the error rate is the same, the fact that AI is producing 10-100 times the total volume of work, and creating errors that are harder to predict (often seeming reasonable)and thus require more expert scrutiny to make work.

Also, lemme say this: one of the distinct advantages of computers is that they are built to be deterministic. They give output based on what you give them. Garbage in, garbage out.

But with non-deterministic computing via AI there is a potential "garbage out" no matter what the input was.

My favorite thing I've seen is people saying "We will just have to code review like we code review human code." Folks, you know what has been a bottleneck in every job I've ever had?

Code reviews. People constantly have to wait for code reviews....

You see the problem here, right?

At some point, a person must validate output, for relevance, for correctness, for security.

Or not, and then you are going to routinely produce garbage.

But even worse...
