Because these are crumbs. Our governments should be investing in free post secondary education, public programs like a youth climate corps, and other visionary policies. Not removing GST for a few months. It will hardly make any difference for us at all.

Because when you do the math, the individual savings is almost nil while billions lost from coffer. Will cost businesses, especially small, $$$ to recalibrate their checkout machines. Provinces not consulted & affects them too, not just feds.

Most stores have a button or equivalent that takes either of the taxes off. It's not the work and expense that conservative business owners make it out to be.
We often had "save the GST" sales and the PST has a separate button as well.
The cut helps some parents, so no complaints. Good for them.
