“I don’t care if it’s stupid policy that literally can’t work and is unconstitutional. Because what if it DOES work” is a wild position for NDP supporters to be taking

If the people on top decide to do whatever they want, it means our society is all smoke and mirrors, just people playing pretend until they stop pretending. And all it would take for that to become our society would be for the wealthy to buy a few of them. As America just demonstrated
The ban on price fixing by landlords is probably a good idea, and is within federal powers. The cases in the States are egregious, and probably not illegal here.
But rent control is for sure provincial. And combined with renoviction bans, unlikely to produce more/better housing.
This just points to everything wrong with the NDP right now. They could design a policy that is within federal powers that would help renters. Instead, let’s just announce something that sounds good but we can’t do.
Living under Doug Ford, I can tell you that it's not fun when the other side decides to ignore the constitution and you have to wait for a court ruling.
So yeah, you definitely want to keep those rules in place. Reinforce them even.
Some of us have no choice but to vote NDP. I'm in the North Island Powell River riding, normally an NDP stronghold. The liberal candidate is an administrative grandma type that is simply counting on the Carney Effect to win. NDP candidate is a strong young up and comer with valid plans and ideas.
Aaron Gunn is new, like Jamil Jivani was new in Markham. Both are white supremacist trash and the voters don't realize it or aren't paying attention. Tragic.
Con dude is as hideous as expected but is well versed in social media manipulation and will probably win due to vote splitting. It's like we've been thrown under the bus by the Liberal party here and a lot of people are pissed. I'm voting NDP.

You ok?
Wonks are boring and tedious but you give em a policy goal to chew away at and they'll come up with what works. That's their job!!
They all had YEARS to do it. Lazy, bad, stupid parties.

I'm with you on this. Vote for the progressive candidate with the best chance of beating the conservative.
