I'm pretty sure I saw the first one, but I'm not 100% sure- it might have been the other one that was the same thing, back then. Gone in 60 Seconds? Maybe I saw both.
They stole cars with girl names in one, and CD players in the other?
I dunno. I just remember "NOS" being very important.
Honestly... the first one is a fun romp if you grew up in the millennial JDM phase and like fast cars. After that it's increasing ridiculousness as the movies get worse and worse. I think at this point it's a writers exercise to see how ridiculous they can be and still make money.
I saw the first one 20 years ago, and saw F&F 8 with some friends. I was mystified. "How did this movie about underground street racing escalate into saving the world from cyber terrorists with their cars?"
DON'T DO IT STEVE!
As a gearhead I beg you, save yourself, don't do it!
I have never watched any of them either because I know better. I once sat through Driven with Sylvester Stallone in its entirety to be polite to my hosts, it's not worth it.
May I recommend Grand Prix or Le Mans?
Saw the first, was ok, but I dislike vin diesel & most Hollywood crap. It's a movie for 18-34 testosterone & gas types. Not that I don't like music, explosions & spectacle, but vin diesel a shit actor, everything is algorithmic fluff to milk masses
Agreed! I watched it with my hockey team as a teenager and it made me so angry, especially vin diesel. But then again, I was an arts high school kid, so maybe the wrong demographic 😂

It's all about family.
