yeah dude i live here too. i've tried talking to them. genuinely. i have spoken to them in soft-tones, reassured them i want the same thing they want, families living happily without stress about finances.

i really don't think i suck at this kind of conversation but they never budge.

Ford seems to be a very stereotypical, not terribly ethical, conservative-leaning populist politician.

I don't understand how he manages to keep getting elected -- it's hardly as if he's more (or as) honest or more (or as) competent than the competition from other parties.

I don’t hate the West. I think it’s a loud minority that is giving you all a bad rap. All the Westerners I’ve met are very nice and every bit Canadian. Canada isn’t Canada without it’s distinct cultures, Maritimers, Quebecois, Westerners, indigenous, Northerners, and us boring Ontarians

I’m with you 100% but media coverage really paints the west in a negative light. It’s always framed as the richest province complaining about having to pay their fair share, and then coming back to beg every time the price of oil dips.

While on a trip out west I made the mistake of staying overnight in Fort McLeod with an ONTARIO license plate. When asked where I lived by fellow bikers I said OTTAWA and was not disappointed.

"When are you going to do something about Trudeau?!!". it went on from there.

I've traveled across the country (west coast to east) a couple of times. I assure you, I heard far more nasty negativity against Ottawa and the rest of Canada when in the prairies, than against prairie provinces when elsewhere.

Alberta especially - classic grievance culture, since at least 1970's
