He's a sort of weather vane, albeit one that can't turn towards the left, who he presumably regards as an irrelevance and incapable of determining elections. Only the Conservatives and Reform are threats worth bothering about in his eyes; and not Greens, Lib Dems or Abstainers.
Yet comes across as incompetent as he's from a Human Rights Lawyer background but is incapable to noticing human rights being breached and flirts with the idea of breaching, himself.
Fun fact: Labour actually received half a million *fewer* votes in 2024 than in 2019, but were propelled to a landslide due to the Conservatives losing 7 million votes (Oh, and Con + Reform combined were 3 million fewer than Con + Brexit combined).
My local Labour Candidate came across as a Starmer Fanboy, and the local Tory one didn't win over 50% of the vote. So neither won. The Reform guy had a really poncey name and did nothing at all to interact with voters.

So Plaid did nicely here.
