I realised, once you give children access to an adult world you create monsters or victims. There seems to be very little that’s safe in between for young people.

IMO the series shows that it is not black and white. It is the systems that are monstrous...it may be more visible now with social media, but poverty& inequality always correlated with violence. I recommend Undercurrent @natashacarthew.bsky.social about childhood and adolescence in 1980s Cornwall

Concur. It is quite brilliant and the acting is superb. But the writing in the third part - most compelling on screen - is the sort of thing that would get your average psychologist disbarred.

Doesn't leave out the actions by girls, either. Very relatable, even of there wasn't social media when you were that age. Same fragile minds, same need to tread carefully around one another. No one is unscathed by middle school, highschool. Hell, I'm still coming to terms w/what my own bullies did.

It's not a comfortable watch. As a 13 year old, I felt ugly and sure girls did too. But there wasn't social media or the Internet at that time - which amplify negativity so much.
