The problem with floor crossing a final seat is nothing is stopping them just crossing back over if they dislike you. This is basically the same as just getting a confidence partner, they're on your side until they aren't. If you want a majority you better hope an actual LPC loyal MP wins Nunavut

Doesn't really matter a whole lot. Hard to imagine that any proposed legislation can't get another 2 or 3 or more votes from either of the other 3 parties...different support from different parties depending upon the legislation.

I think 171 would be great. If they can't convince even one other MP that the bill is good, it probably isn't. And if it's only one then even Elizabeth May could be the deciding vote.

Yeah I feel like 170 or 171 is fine. I'm NDP anyway, so I feel like anything they can't get at least a couple of NDP votes for is probably something I wouldn't want anyway, and it's still close enough to a majority that the Cons can't block decent stuff easily.
