It’s (likely) a significant outlay for a 29-year old. Yes, PL proven, but with no resale value it’s a big risk. Hopefully it’s just to look like the club tried something in this window and we can go big on a real superstar in the summer.

CL or no CL, Isak will go for a lot more money. I am certainly not against a Watkins move. He has the experience and is really a natural goal scorer.

Depending on whether Newcastle qualify for the CL, Isak may be out of reach in the summer with the fee they are quoting and he may want to stay one more year.

The summer is full of uncertainties and whilst it seemingly sees Watkins is available now - it's an opportunity we have to take. (2/2)

Absolutely. we need a striker now, but my fear was we'd go for another squad player just to show we were 'doing something' while waiting for real targets in the summer.

The Watkins rumour is very different. Proven in PL. Improves this squad very obviously. If available now, we should lock in
