Just as an FYI, I uninstalled Copilot and Copilot 365 and two days later, my laptop said it needed a critical update and it fucked with the BIOS and everything.
When all the dust settled, Copilot was back on here.
Shady motherfucking Microsoft.

Windows 11: The Ultimate Spyware? Government Surveillance Raises Privacy Concerns

Universal destruction may occur and i make no guarantees that it won't.
Just because you all don't understand how all that works does not mean MS is evil or spying or intentionally sabotaging your OS. 🙄
but I'm guessing too many decision makers have their compensation tied to Copilot adoption.
(you know, that you are not bound to ugly Gnome?)
forced adoption is what made them at all!
Linux would never. Tbh macOS would never.
It's decent and it has a decent app store with stuff from their own repository in case you don't like the hassle
They're not joking around. Every so often they force an update and then forces me to go through the whole "no I don't want to update my default browser settings"
To use iCloud on this Mac you must accept the new Terms and Conditions"
I guess Apple users are more prone to do whatever Apple tells them to do
Your expectations for how much expertise and work it should take up just set up and use a computer are way off from everyone else's.
I have an older laptop that came with Windows 10 and then updated to Windows 11. It started making a weird noise and didn't work at all. So I wiped clean Windows and replaced it with Linux Mint. It's ten times faster than it was with Windows 10. I'm in love.
However technically you are very correct. For embedded dev Ive used Linux since sadly there is no good alternative:(
FreeBSD software is a bit behind sure, but it is very common on routers and other network appliances since it's network stack is great
You should be able to do it in any program you're using. Word, Excel, etc.
It is so bad, it even wrote incorrect syntax C++ once..
Just nobody should form a cult around it.
Got it on Raspi, not bad at all and thats very basic.
All good so far.
I also had an issue a little while ago when I updated my Windows SSD (I dual-boot), and Windows overwrote literally all of my boot-loader. The noisy neighbor who gobbles up all your data and settings.
The beauty of linux always has been that you *can* do whatever you want - not that you have to.
My fedora install is literally barebones gnome with a few extensions.
And the fact that all distros from an outsider point of view are just "Linux" makes them believe that It is the majority of distros like that
There is a lot of work still to be done on making it more accessible to someone jettisoning windows.

Asking because in 8 years of exclusive use of Mint never had to touch the command line for mundane tasks. Last time was upgrading from 21.x to 22.0 and that took 3 steps.
I switched to Ubuntu last spring and I never touch the terminal. I play all my games on Linux just fine, I pretty much get all Microsoft office programs for free and it’s just chill.
But also preferring Ubuntu for anything other than for server deployment shows you're not one to be trusted anyway.
