I would be SHOCKED if there is a library better funded than it's associated police department. My own county has spent 71% of the budget on law enforcement. We're just a sheriff with a vestigial county attached.

Earlier this year my town released its spending info and I was surprised and pleased to know top billing went to the schools

Which also explains why it's so expensive to be here. They built a machine that generates property value

Everyone wants their property value to go up but never wants to have to pay the taxes for the services that make the property values go up.

Fairly impressive that schools took top spot though. Have to remember that if I ever move to MI.

School funding may not be consistent because I tried to look into the budget for the next town over and on a casual pass I couldn't figure out where the education budget was. But the cops got a big number!
