My father lived near Tiger Stadium in Detroit in the mid 1920s. People would line up to buy tickets, my father would walk up and down the line, (he would have been about 8-10 years old), and ask if someone would take him in. And sometimes, they did. He saw a lot of the greats that way. :)

I went to my very first game at Dodger Stadium when I was about that age. But I wasn't there to see the Dodgers - I wanted to see Hank Aaron, who had just recently broke the all-time HR record.

It was his day off. He pinch-hit in extra innings and was intentionally walked.
