Even that's a poor excuse because I find it really hard to believe that a company like Bungie doesn't have the resources to maintain full backups for the live branch builds of their games.

Well knowing that Destiny 2 never made them any real money and that PlayStation was basically breathing down their neck for a take over makes me pretty damn sure that they WOULD actually delete the old content, or not maintain it in any way to save the little money they DIDNT have.
Dude it takes like nothing to backup builds since 2010 to the point where the only reason why you wouldn't backup builds is because you're incompetent. I'm a broke, solo indie dev and even I can maintain full backups and good version control for of all my game builds.
