I very much feel as if I should say "the sleeper has awakened". So more and more it seems as if this world is a complete construct, it's a dream of some sort. It's been inferred Kim was the sleeper in that ruin. Hmm..hmm I'm going to have to make a chart.

One of the things I love about Dark Science is that you get silly episodes with Kim being a goofball, awesome episodes with Kim solving things with science, and then amazing lyrical episodes like this one. (And they all hang together.)

I get the feeling that these flashbacks are from a time when a lot of things (eg., *the sun itself*, or at least aspects of light and colour) were stolen by historical Dark Scientists. The Giantslayer took all these things back. And now we have a new cabal trying to do it all again.

So certain objects are constructed with nanites or something similar and are programmed to self-destruct/dissolve if touched by someone who doesn't have authorization? That's why early in the Story Kim's jacket dissolves in Ling's hands, but later on (when she gets added to the whitelist) it doesnt?

I thought it was a Dark Science thing; that certain objects are only "real" to the Dark Scientist that created/uses them, and nobody else.

Correct! It can be visualized as each Dark Scientist occupying their own bubble of ever-shifting reality. And the only thing not apparently changing is Kim. And now possibly Ling???
