The death cult of extremist tin pot capitalism is upon us - the repeated failure of the mass media to hold these people to account is disastrous and as they destroy the world for the profit of the few they will cause pain and poverty for multitudes

What's he going to do about the pylons and solar farms already in Lincs?
Nothing.
Will he, or any other MP, a council or mayor have the final say in any future proposals?
No. Only a minister will.
Is there any point in listening to a word he says?
No. He's a gobsh1te.
Reform has accepted major donations from fossil fuel-linked individuals and companies. Over 92% of its funding since 2019 comes from high-polluting sectors. The party seeks oil/gas industry donors and its policies-expanding extraction and scrapping net zero-closely align with fossil fuel interests.
First they bought the media. This started when some media people showed that they could be bought. Of course, some 'newspapers' have a long history of this. The last 40 years have been progressive disinformation such that, those growing up in those 40 years have few other points of reference.
Net zero and renewables ought to represent an huge opportunity - all the associated infrastructure projects will bring jobs, and not burning the planet is a net positive for all - but these tossers just reject it out of spite.
Is electricity woke, or something?
I am disappointed and outraged that our town voted the Reform candidate in. Cornwall is well placed to be powered by geothermal (luckily there has been investment here) and the potential for wave energy, again investment is needed to explore the options for commercial viability. Dark times
These pathetic people (including their supporters) think solar panels is tyranny in their small-minded backward (fossil-fuel co backed) outlook on life. They’ll be wanting pits open and kids digging out coal next ‘good honest graft that I wouldn’t dream of even thinking of doing’
I see why people are concerned;
it's not wrong to be, but to put the statistics in context.
Honestly I was deeply depressed myself until I saw this.
A concerning amount sure and it really is the Old Boy's Network I'm sure in the BBC and regulators who causing this mess & this is the best they can do
I'm not sure how to respond as I lack info, but while the situation is far from ideal it's also far from hopeless and lost?
Many are calling on Labour & especially Starmer as is typical to sort their shit out & that's fair enough; meanwhile many call for tactical vote against Reform & Tories next GE
It's not lost yet, and hopefully disillusionment with what the voters actually get from their new councillors and mayors will change future voting for the better. But Labour needs to wake up, and needs too to get a grip on media bias.
Well many fit in both categories - calling for Labour to sort their shit out in the next few weeks, and for a full pivot to tactical voting in favour of parties with their shit sorted out in time for the 2026 locals if they don't.
Labour have a policy that's toxic to me, but generally if they're closer to the centre than other electable parties and show they can win, I tolerate a lot.
Well, they lost 65% of seats from Starmer's low point. Unchecked, imagine the drop in the elections after partygate (2026) and Truss (2027)?
Ah I see. Try as I might I just can't remotely stay on top of things these days it seems.
Well IDK what to say except yes indeed a general shake up is in order all round every which way from Labour abandoning their backfiring experiment in attracting Reform voters, being less harsh with PIP & more.🤷🏻♂️
Labour should know better. But as Kier and all shift to the right to try to court Reform voters, left leaning supporters stay at home and the right leaning ones continue to ignore them.
And they loose their soul too.
Reform didn't actually do that well the 2 main parties ..
Little shout out here for the LibDems who, in number of councillors, came second!
Of course what we really need is to consign FPTP to the dustbin of history and actually have a representative democracy that represents the voting intentions of the electorate.
And watch billions of pounds of investment shift up and down the coast rendering Lincolnshire lost, lonely and left behind. What a pathetic little man Tice Krispy is.
The media aren’t holding them to account because a lot of it is complicit and persuasive to keep the status quo as they like it, continuing their project of redistributing the wealth from the bottom to the top. And people keep falling for it. So sick of the lack of critical thinking among voters.
Reform are pathetic. China met their renewable target 6 years early. Are they seriously suggesting that they did this with some sort of " woke" motivation? . It makes sound economic sense as well as being the right thing to do.
The upside being that when it all falls apart by Tuesday the rest of us can say do you really want this utter fucking shambles in charge of the rest of the country.
Pylon in Canada:
So they're opposed to... traffic guidance during road repairs.
Oh.
Pylon means, like, a post for electrical wires.
So they're against electricity.
Mass media don't only not hold them to account, they amplify their voices. Whether that is down to who funds them, the fact they need the clicks/reads or something else I don't know, but it's hugely damaging.
Tice is impressively moronic. Its predictable short-term, populist drivel. It's so sad that there are so many gullible people out there. Britain faces real challenges, but he has no long-term answers.
By voting for Reform (and their rejection of renewables) they're essentially voting for sea level rise which, in parts of Lincolnshire, isn't the smartest move imho 😏
Er, what have pylons got to do with renewable energy? However you generate electricity you still have to conduct it away to where it does its work. And I'm disappointed to see that this man has no regard for UK energy security - an essential in the modern world. It isn't 1957 any more.

Tice is a far right dickhead who vastly overestimates his own importance and abilities
I also think you could argue Luke Campbell (as someone with zero politics experience) is a DEI hire...

They didn't get to be mega rich by any sort of public duty or service
They're not going to start now
The BBC needs a clear out at the top
Although the damage is already done

Also though, the Greens did well but that is largely being ignored by the media.

So sad to see places go backwards just for the want of truth…😔

The more emotive we get, the more money and adspace they can sell.
The BBC are just afraid of being defunded.
