For a few seconds I was full of joy thinking that it could be trump in that place near the biggest star close to the planet earth, melting away slowly..they I awake :(
We here in SoAZ are delighted to back down to 100, vs. the 113 of a few days ago. (And our dry air isn’t giving us a “but it only feels like” benefit at the moment.) We are also delighted to have the solstice behind us!
Hell, I grew up in Missouri, and currently live in NE Arkansas... Arkansas is MUCH worse and, this place, has FAR FAR more schizophrenic weather. I hate it here.
when I talk about leaving Missouri to move back to Florida people are always like "it's so hot and humid in Florida" and I'm like "do you not understand that somehow Missouri weather is worse!?" ~<3
If it's worse than Florida, why do people live there? It's been in the 90°s for weeks and will likely stay there until fall. Maybe longer. You ever been in 85° rain?
Mood, tho. I'd been planning to leave here my whole life. However, my partner owns the house so I'm kinda stuck here now. Fewer and fewer people own houses these days, you know? Gotta hold on to it
We’re here because daughter moved our grands nearby. We won’t stay though. We’re raising a grandson who’s 16. When he graduates we’ll look for somewhere else.
hottest outdoor temperature I have ever experienced in the US, was some time around 2012, it was 108 degrees outside, that was in Missouri, I grew up in Southern California. ~<3
I pulled weeds for more than an hour in KC yesterday and regretted it. I got heat exhaustion. At least I was smart enough to use sunscreen and wear a hat.
August in Baltimore is known as hell's front porch with the heat and humidity. I think the entire summer might now be hell's front porch for many states.
I lived in Florida on St. Pete Beach, right off the bay. Every night was glorious. We would light a fire pit and just enjoy the breeze. My apartment no longer exists following the hurricane that hit the island. Back in November. So sad.
Gotta say - one of the reasons we returned home to MI. And - I'd rather drive in snow than on ice. Especially given the MO drivers thinking I-270 is the Indy 500...
I was driving to work one morning in the center and two cars racing each other crisscrossed right in front of me at a very high speed. I thought to myself, "I want my own lane." It was terrifying.
Im pretty sure the post is just hyperbole. Everyone is suffering the current heat. Upstate NY is high 90’s all this coming week. 70’s immediately following. Its summer.
Except, for the most part, the literal desert is dry. (I moved to MO from Northern NV, so understand it.) MO is 97, with 89% humidity. Whole different animal. Step outside, into a sauna.
You guys r hotter than Tampa Bay. Today's high was 90. Hottest this wk will b 91°. The heat u guys have been getting is crazy. Even the humidity. Im from SE PA and its been hotter there the last 5 summers than here. The snowbirds r gonna start staying & then I'm really gonna have issues...
