nothing wrong with having too many young, promising guards on an NBA roster. it's not like they're gonna get a better player than Grimes with that money. get good players. let them sort it out

Morey is going to make a roster decision right away in terms of Grimes contract. Nurse, in the hot seat, is going to have to decide if he's willing to play rookie VJ and Grimes at SF 32 minutes a night.
So the decisions come up sooner athan you think. It would be different if they weren't win now.
The league is so full of injuries. Having VJ, Maxey, Grimes, McCain is far from excessive. It just means you sign one less Reggie Jacksons of the world
So basically it can work if your coach is willing to take the lumps that come with 3 guard lineups with multiple rookie/soph. I'm not convinced Nurse will do that.
if the sixers are good next year, it's very likely that the rookie won't play as much as would be ideal for their individual growth (at least it won't be as visible to us). I don't think a single rookie in the last years class played anywhere near 36 mins a game. Castle, the ROY played 26 mins.
Rookies very rarely factor into signifiant regular season success, and almost never contribute to playoff success. It’s not fair to ask VJ or any rookie to play a lot of minutes esp on a win now team. You draft who think is the best player and give their time to succeed.

Only way is to go small 36 min a game. Nurse might not agree to this as a coach in the hot seat.
If Nurse goes old school,Maxey and Grimes play 36, and maybe 12 min of 3 guard lineups leaves 18 min each for McCain and VJ.
