rival GMs probably don't see Bailey as a Morey guy. and so i think there's incentive for him to at least convince the league that he's considering taking Bailey...if only to attract the best possible trade offers from the widest array of suitors.

though to counter, in theory people love Morey's approach at taking big swings. The reality rightly makes them uncomfortable. If they take Ace could be as simple as he's seen as having the highest upside left.
and I do want to stress that small sample size is a big deal, as is team construction, and bad coaching. Noisy numbers can be worse than no numbers. but I completely understand the hesitation.
and please whether in the draft or somewhere else please get this team someone who can pass the ball.
i know Pelton's model at least incorporates EYBL to deal with the noisiness of a single college season. but yeah...it will always be more art than science.
and ditto on the passing, playmaking, general IQ. it's painful how little they have right now.
totally, if we have to live in a world without Embiid, some high level playmaking, IQ, would be the quickest way to elevate the team. need players that allow (or in some cases dictate) that players play their optimal role.
but i do think mccain's got *some* of that in him. as does grimes. neither has it at a super high level right now. but at least it would be nice to have those guys on the floor in their best-suited roles.
Yep they have what you need, but without a true playmaker you need a whole roster with that skill. Like NYK, Bos, Minn, & OKC all are missing true genius playmakers, but have a lot of guys who connect. Indy and Denver have elite playmakers which allows for guys who are more one dimensional.
