yeah. as a generally anti-Bailey guy...I do take comfort in the fact that it's pretty rare for teams to draft a player in the top 5 who was so inefficient in college. and when they do it's probably cuz the guy is an *elite* athlete.

That said...I'd love for someone to compare Bailey's shot profile to Edwards and Brown. The thing that worries me about Bailey is how infrequently he got into the paint. I'm guessing Edwards and Brown flashed more potential in that area.
yeah, I get that the idea is that can shoot over people (have heard Rashard Lewis a lot) but it seems like he was forced to take a ton of bad shots in college because he couldn't separate. Outside of weight, he has the same measurements as Flagg.
hear me out guys. We can only judge on what we know. But it makes almost just as much sense to compare him to nba players who played more than year in college than just comparing him to other one and done players. They obviously wouldn’t be drafting him because of his college career.
He was seen as a high lottery pick before the college season even started. So it comes down to how much stock do you put into one year in a bad program.
That's a fair point. In a lot of cases (though not all) the elite traits of elite recruits translate to the NBA eventually. My biggest issue with Ace -- just watching the highlights -- is how infrequently he seems to get where he wants to go. I imagine he'll add strength. But where's the quickness?
There’s a long anecdote in this about Morey being mad that his model missed Deandre Jordan because he had been bad in college, so I think he is willing to look beyond college stats—if there’s a good reason to do so
Incidentally this is also why I’m struggling with Tre Johnson, he took 2.9 shots at the rim per game with a 26.5 free throw rate. He shot much better than Ace, but Ace brings rebounding and shot blocking.
