I believe they need to be in the forest. Ghost pipe is said to feed off of fungi symbiotic with certain tree species. If you manage to pull this off I'd love to see it!

These grow abundantly in the Adirondack Mountains! I think mid to late summer if memory serves?
They are so pretty and fascinating 🤍 When you press / preserve them, they don't stay white, and turn all black (found this out when checking my school's herbarium in the ADK)
