it's just individual bullshit. it means basically nothing in terms of actual policy success or failures. where it matters is largely just personal friendships and conflict handling at your job. "everyone please be more patient and polite" is not something you can turn into policy change.

where you know this is just bullshit decorum "please be nicer to me and my friends" crap and not actual political change is in that interview they go on about moulton being excommunicated for his trans views, when him being loudly criticized is a big part WHY he voted against the trans sports bill.

and on top of that, following talk of him being 'excomunnicated' with 'moulton isn't going anywhere'. nobody was pushed out! people were just critical of him, and that critical attitude actually got a positive change!

"my fellow lawmakers would really like it if trans people were nicer to us" is where this seems to actually shake out, and we have a recent example where being nice did not, in fact, get the goods. being critical did.

this is not a strategy for change. it's just disliking conflict.
