establishment dems lining up behind cuomo instead of lander really showing you what being more 'reasonable', 'restrained', 'moderate', 'put the work in' actually gets you from the party: jack shit

Establishment Dems are no different that establishment GOP in that they all want to keep the system that benefits them most and not work for one that benefits everyone.
When he wasn't being evil, he established the EPA, signed the SALT treaty, ended the Vietnam draft, and opened up trade with China. Dude was a Trot by today's standards
Its the most disheartening thing happening in politics now- how ineffective, quiet, submissive the establishment Dems are. All for themselves, not for us, not doing their jobs, and they tool our donations!
I get that I’m probably yelling into the void here…”establishment dems” are not in fact lining up behind Cuomo. Schumer, Hochul, Jeffries…none have endorsed Cuomo. The DNC is not involved. Lander has several congressional endorsements and the State Attorney General’s
For context: I ranked him 2nd (after Adams), and don’t want Cuomo.
However, it’s important to understand Cuomo’s popularity is not a conspiracy by the establishment. It’s a failure to understand the voters (who actually make these decisions).
I hear what you're saying. I'll counter with this: the capital D folks aren't explicitly saying Cuomo, but they're explicitly saying 'not the colored guy' and pretending Landers doesn't exist.
Cuomos biggest advantage is name recognition with voters and connections in the NYC AA Dem machine.
Fortunately with ranked choice voting we have a chance to use that to advantage, so I recommend ranking Adams and Lander, who both have appeal across the Cuomo/Mamdani divide.
You guys know there’s a “colored” woman? Adams.
Anyway, Cuomos support very much comes from the African American voting block. Who are the “Capital D folks” explicitly saying what?
This is the problem with the media (esp social) taking a LOCAL mayoral primary and turning it into a national event.
Anyway, ranking Adams would be a good idea, as she has good crossover support with the AA Dem voting block, which is extremely important in NYC electoral politics.
But more to the point, blaming Cuomos support like anti-“colored” racism is factually silly.
Mamdani is an exciting young progressive of color, much like AOC. They want to see if more like her can find success. It’s kinda unfair of course but that’s why it’s getting so much attention even internationally (see today’s interview in The Guardian)
Be as it may, it’s important to understand that this national conversation will have little effect on this local primary, but more importantly will involve a lot of people who don’t understand NYC politics.
also important to understand this race has little to nothing to do with national politics
It is so on brand for coward so-called Democratic leaders. They are destroying what was once a great party that were champions for working people. Now, they have no vision or direction. It is no wonder that the MAGA fascist takeover occurred so rapidly.
This might be helpful.
It’s a list of every candidate’s endorsements. Too many people talking like this is a two person race, as opposed to a large local primary with many good candidates.
Sad to see all those union endorsements. When you get into the actual rich pig ass kissing details of neolib shit, they suck for us poo'd on peeons. NOT as bad as repukes do, but ...
Suck <> good.
Putting the work in means being loud, supporting the progressive wing like Mamdani and Lander, and then voting Democrat in every general election so we can slow the tide of fascism until the next time we can run a progressive.
Agree that reasonable, restrained, and moderate are all terrible ideas.
TIME IS SHORT,ITS ALMOST THE END OF THIS WORLD AS WE KNOW IT,YOU NEED TO READ MY BIO AND CLICK MORE INFO on X,IN ORDER TO KNOW HOW TO TRULY BE REBORN AND SAVED AND LOVED FOR EVER AND EVER, @CHUCK77781
the party does not become more open to working with you and supporting you if you play by all the rules and do the scut work for years and don't cause big fusses, they just don't spend time telling newspapers that they hate your fucking guts. not a good deal, imo

This is a local open primary.
