John 3:30.. “He must increase, but I must decrease".. quite right.. JC born winter solstice, JB summer solstice, and what must increase/decrease, at the shortest/longest days?.. daylight.. pagan sun worship incarnated
My only Jesus take for Christmas is that Jesus most definitely would not take part in the practice of "re-gifting" but he absolutely would gift his friends a 24 case of water bottles only to turn them into wine before dinner.
Jesus came to my last family xmas party &turned all the water into wine even thou we explicitly told him not to cause only the kids were drinking water. That motherfucker just comes in and does whatever he wants then acts like we should appreciate it?!? My daughter is only 7 and is now an alcoholic
Christians keep tryna claim that Christmas isn't based on the pagan celebration of the winter solstice, but even they can't decide when the real date actually was & so seemingly picked a day mirroring other celebrations. Jesus may have not even been a winter baby.
That is basically what we found way back then. That a census was done in Bethlehem in late spring. Whether that was one Joseph participated in is unknown. But given only 2 pieces of data (census and Bethlehem), that is what we came up with. This was all before the internet was useful.
I still can not find data to back up your claims, and instead, I found logical reasoning that the account may be fictitious regarding the whereabouts of Jesus’s birthplace. While I can see logical reasoning in the claim that a census was made for taxation, the claim itself still lacks credibility.
Very likely. All we were able to find was that there was a census that year, and Bethlehem did theirs in late spring. So if somebody says that it had nothing to do with the census or Bethlehem, then there is no basis for anybody to make a guess as to when or where.
Alright man, I'll research this one myself, but I'll consider it unverifiedclsim for the time being. I do honestly think I've heard something at least similar before.
I'm reading that there is debate about the time of his birth, including references regarding whether farmers would graze their sheep in the winter, though the winters in Judea have been fairly mild through history, but this says nothing of absolutely frigid winter nights in the area, so...
