Certainly. People at track level can shut down a large part of the network putting thousands of travelers out onto the streets.

These delays get lots of publicity and further push people away from using the TTC - lovingly known as Take The Car during its failures.

PSDs should also reduce suicides and suicide attempts. They do look an operator into a particular layout of the location of train doors. Now electric trains have a life of up to 40 years but they do eventually need to be replaced...

On line 1 we spent years installing ATC. The trains already stop at specific locations - we have stickers on the ground showing where the doors will land. So no change there.

Yep. If you have PSDs you really want ATC. The jubilee line had manual operation and PSDs for several years. Not a happy experience.

Lock an operator. Gah. In London the Jubilee line trains are coming up to 30 years of age. It'll be interesting to see what TfL's strategy is on replacing these. In about 10 years...
