it's so awful that women friends provide women slated for needle biopsies with painkillers, since their doctors don't prescribe them. one woman recalls her excruciating ordeal back in 1972-- & not much has changed since. why is women's pain discounted?
patients are always anesthetized before colonoscopies yet it's likely the pain is less than a needle biopsy. I am wondering if this is because men have colonoscopies as well as women; but only women have needle biopsies, usually. do men tolerate pain less than women?--doubt it.
