I still have mine because I have so many amazing friends on IG and I also have one more obligation coming up. But like you, I'm looking very hard to find a healthier option. Hopefully here.

I’ve abandoned mine but I hadn’t long started & I wasn’t reaching non-followers anyway due to its horrible algorithm. I’ve had a better time here already.

Same! I was just starting on IG for my ceramics and building. Got my first couple custom orders!!! But I plan to leave Meta fully.

It’s not as much of a setback as you, but I think I’m going to maintain over there for a bit. Regularly post about accounts here and gradually fade that out.

I plan on deleting my Instagram which breaks my heart but things have gotten way too out of hand there 😭 It’s a placeholder for now since I want to follow all my mutuals who are moving to Bluesky and just haven’t had the heart to redownload the app.

I can't leave yet - my income comes pretty much only from there. I also kinda feel the need to be a voice on that platform, and I worry that we'll all be fractured and not able to inform each other or come together whenever the need arises. Lots of thoughts...

I’m wondering the same thing. I just hit 1,100 followers (which is a big triumph for me) and I don’t want to lose them. I’d like to fully commit to Bluesky and their Flashes app when it comes out, but I worry about losing connections.

I also feel trapped on Instagram, having built a following on there for like the past 10 years😭 and I feel overwhelmed AF thinking about starting from scratch! I am keeping IG for now, as it's my main source if income.
I am also starting a Substack, so hopefully something works out!

Also, apparently the creators of Bluesky are working on an instagram replacement called Flashes!! This is something I am really interested in, because I like the gallery-style of IG.. bluesky feels very word-based, I was never on twitter and I don't really enjoy this layout for art posting.

I'm keeping my Instagram account for now. My artwork is my sole source of income and I'm really worried that I'll lose the ability to be a full time artist if I do. That said though, I have made accounts of sites separate from Meta in the hopes that I can get rid of that account eventually

I'm still on ig. I've almost abondoned my public account which has like 90k followers. I'm sure it's mostly inactive/bots. Keeping my small private account though. Found people through a shared artist starter pack, looked people up, and followed back people who found me here via ig stories

I’m staying on meta platforms for now until I build a following here. It also keeps me connected with events I vend at. But I don’t plan on using them as frequently and I’m going to delete my personal IG account I haven’t touched in years.
