I never understood how anyone could think that being a warrior for Social Justice was anything but the coolest thing ever - short of Dragon of Protecting the Weak.
But those who used it were not respectable, were they? Some people use "woman" as a pejorative, should we stop using it and give those bigots the credit for changing English usage?
On the contrary, they garnered a lot of respect in their circles. SJWs were seen as fringe weirdos while the Anti-SJWs were seen as level-headed realists. It led to a lot of pick-me attitudes in leftist spaces and birthed the careers of many grifters like Vanessa and Tucute Smasher.

Social Justice as a concept is fantastic, but the branding back then was real rough.
