What does the Milky Way look like from the side? Thanks to data from ESA’s Gaia mission, we now have a detailed map showing its thin, warped disk — home to our Sun and billions of stars. A stunning view of our galaxy’s true shape.

I know it's not our sun. What is it?
Can it be a black hole? If so why is it so bright?
Or is dark matter what structures the galaxy?
Somebody up in the sky must be well versed in maths&science, and have lots of time on their hands ...
That ‘slim’ is 1,000 light years ~. The middle is 10,000 or so. The disk is 100,000 ly.
Unless they just proved to MAGA that the world is flat.

Do we know why it is warped?
(Someone stepped on in, didn't they??)

Do you mind?
Wow.
😉
Took the a while, though
"Up?"Ah,opposed to
"down?"
"Away from gravity?"
Please advise...
no clue here,
perhaps overthinking,
not enough thinking?
to the Milky Way,
sideways view.
The query is "where
is "up" in space?
No attempt at an
answer,but plenty of
comments on other
topics on the minds
of others wishing
to be heard.
On something.
Maybe farther, much farther, there are other universes. Or maybe there is nothing.
We might never know 🤔
I mean what force allows the galaxy to retain its shape, allowing all the stars and planets of the Milky Way to move across the cosmos together?
Could it be dark matter?
Then, there are people who try to listen to social media influencers who tell them what masculinity is and how women, POC, immigrants are less than them.
Which one to choose?
It just wasn’t earth that was flat.
They just have to change a word on their bios 😊
