I think Ukraine knows all of this but trying to make the best in a bad situation. I don't think Russia is gonna agree. They just gonna ask more and more. I would be afraid if they would say yes, it would only mean they have something going on in the background.

There should be no "negotiations" regarding the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The United Nations should denounce the invasion and set up a peace keeping army at the Russian border. Then Russia can fight the whole world if they persist.
