Jet A fuel is a terrible loophole to environmental protections.

"Highway Diesel" has Sulphur < 15ppm by regulation;
Offroad "Class D red Diesel" has Sulphur up to 1000ppm;
Jet A? The regulation is < 0.3% (3000ppm!) and testing shows it is usually 400-800ppm.

(Sulphur causes acid rain and smog)

Back when I was studying biology/environmental health I Iearned that living with 2 blocks of a freeway is correlated with multiple adverse health effects. It’s also another example of environmental racism, as many folx have no other options but to live near one. I hope you can recover your health. ❤️

i just wrote a book highlighting the ways placing dense multifamily housing on arterials and highways is a public health nightmare. no mayors in major US cities are trying to fix or even mitigate this.

i lived in a crappy, damp 60 year old house on the same block as an active industrial site in (still toxic) Pittsburgh for just ONE year and developed high levels of mold and heavy metals in my blood. i really wish people understood how big the stakes are for healthy housing!

I lived next to a freeway for several years, and it was horrible in so many ways. In addition to the respiratory problems and other illness, the noise and visual disruption was constant and gave me constant headaches. I’m so glad we both got away from that!!

I lived in an apartment next to an interstate in a major city. The constant traffic noise grinds on you and creates a low level of stress that never goes away. I only realzied how bad it was when they shut the interstate to work on a bridge and the sense of calm was overwhelming.
