I think that somewhat flawed works of art, like D&D, can inspire good art because we can see the opportunity for improvement.

That's kind of like calling all films Ant-Man Quantumania.
There is art of all kinds that are inspired and informed by all ttrpgs.
Lumping it all under "D&D" is erasing 99.999% hobby.
It actively discourages people from playing other games because they think "If it's all D&D, why should I play something else?"
Treat everyone as people shouldn't be a bar many games struggle to cross.
