So apparently, the U.S. is sending “retired” F-16s from the Davis-Monthan boneyard to Ukraine - supposedly just for spare parts to repair existing jets. Sure... just spare parts, nothing to see here.

BUY fuck loads of stuff there is no use for , get 'campaign fund' donations from arms company , order fuck loads more , get campaign.. you get the idea
So shit loads of stuff just goes straight into stores , usually to get scrapped a few years later
so while biden said no F16's trump turned around 180 and said YES give them F16? several countries trained there pilots in tucson like BEL/NOR/DEN/NL. It might as well be BEL F16 which they said would be delivered this year. about 0,00001% chance these are US jets
The US seems to be committed to keeping the already delivered fighters in the air.
I only wish it were an entire squadron of flight worthy planes landing today.
Uhmmm, There is a bit to unmothballing these jets mostly unflyable. Ukaine doesnt have the capes to make these fly again as well. Unless these have engines in them that are needed for spare parts. Just my take.
It shouldn't be hard to determine the flightworthiness of those airframes using Maxxar imagery of the boneyard.
Aircraft there are kept in separate areas in three readiness states. If several airframes are now missing from the flightworthy group, these are flightworthy aircraft being delivered...
Unless specifically maintained for possible future use these old version jets have combat systems and classified electronics removed. It is highly likely that these donated aircraft are in fact for use as hardware spares.

It'a doubtful.

As long as they've got jubilee clips and gaffer tape, there's no such thing as 'un-flyable'... 🛠️
