If we truly valued not only life but the person in front of us,the goal would be to find the best way possible to make that person health again.
Not to profit from their bad health
I’ve dealt with chronic joint and nerve pain for half my life (16 years now), seen 12+ drs, spent 5 years doin pt, and 2 drs tried to suggest the pain was in my head or I was trying to get paid meds (I didn’t ask for any nor want any). I haven’t seen a dr in 3 years now because I lost hope.
What TV misses is that those specialized tests needed to come to a diagnosis will not be authorized by your insurance company, or only after a 4-day delay.
Take some pills for blood pressure, some more for cholesterol, some more because, why not?
(4 weeks later) The scans results are back and all normal. Labs are back and levels are normal.
That will be $5,500, after your deductible.
Kept telling the doctor something was wrong. I was losing weight, terribly fatigued & unable to eat. Doc says Depression for 9 months until I insisted on a scan. Stage IV kidney cancer with metastasis to my lungs. She had the audacity to say, “it’s Stage IV cancer but you knew that.” RAGE 😡
I'm sorry. I just meant it was something doctors often think with older patients when the odds are against them. It's wrong. It happened to my Dad at age 80, after he had a massive heart attack. His doctor just prescribed pain pills and stool softeners and kept telling me he'd die.
I also find that when I remove the glasses and hair clips from nerdy girls, they don't suddenly become ravishingly beautiful. They mostly squint and call campus security.
SO FREAKING TRUE!! Especially if you're a woman. I was told I was just emotional, or sad, by male doctors for 5 years. I was finally diagnosed by a simple blood test any one of them could have requested. I have no delusions about doctors anymore. Second opinion and double check everything.
I'm in the process of being diagnosed with a muscle disease. Like I said to the neurologist, once dx with Fibromyalgia, MDs quit looking. Two MDs tried to dx with a genetic disorder...with zero testing.
One clinic dx me with severe carotid artery disease by ultrasound and CT scan...another clinic said I have no CAD. I'm either a miracle or a medical unicorn.
always tell my wifey
still waiting for the American Hospital show where they start with the patient recovered and then next 50 mins trying to work out “how are we going to pay this??????”

Waaaaaay too accurate...
But I hear socialized medicine will cause lines...so we need to avoid that at all costs.
That meme invalidates everything we try to do.
We should just stop to care.
..."Aaaand that'll be $45,000."
