Christen Press headed the winning goal off a wide corner kick to the feet of Riley Tiernan. She literally kept her head to win the game at the whistle. That's the difference she can and should be making and the difference she might have made last week when the wheels fell off in the second half.

i don't disagree CP23 can make a difference. but she helped on a winning goal that happened because the defense let the offense down once again. without the defense's mistakes in the first half, it would've been an entirely different game with 0 CP23 playing time

a 36 year old athlete with a long recovery from an ACL tear who has barely played with the team (and apparently laughs about how she doesn't like team bonding?) not playing is not why the team has had its struggles. laity is definitely not a great HC, but let's be real about the state of it all

i completely subscribe to CP needing minutes and should've been/should be getting 15-25 a game. i do not subscribe to the thought that it would've made a massive difference in the outcomes of any game this season. she's not who she was and that's OK, that's life as an athlete

i want CP23 to do well. i do not want ACFC to solely rely on the popularity of players like they have in the past and forget that soccer is a team sport. it requires a next-person-up mentality. CP23 went down. other players stepped up and proved themselves. they deserve the credit they've earned
