I’m in a similar situation when I watch hulu with vpn. I get the urge to order a large pepperoni pizza every time a little caesar’s commercial comes up, and I know it won’t be the american pizza I’m longing for 😅

I'm from New Haven, CT, arguably the pizza capital of the United States. And I think the pizza in Germany is almost universally awful.

Lots of mediocre to slightly better pizza in Nuremberg. When I want a taste of the USA, it’s Pizza Hut. Not great, but it tastes like it should. Domino’s, which I hate in the USA and last had in the 90s, bought a German chain called Joey’s about 5-6 years ago and kept much of their stuff. Decent.

a place near where I live claims they do “american pan pizza” and has amazing photos on the menu. I never tried it thinking it’s probably shit but maybe I should :)

pizza hut is also opening a few locations around Berlin but I haven’t tried it yet, maybe that can help with the cravings heh

If you like Pizza Hut in the USA, and I grew up on it, then you’re probably going to enjoy it in Germany. Menu is a bit odd in places (tuna pizzas … BBQ pizzas … Cole slaw as a side etc), but since they still operate restaurants and not simply take out/delivery units, it tends to be fresh.
