I know the king parrots like a nice deep tree hole. Iβm putting up a special king parrot box (i.e. deep) in a tall tree outside my house this winter, ready for their spring breeding time. A floor of coir at the bottom to simulate a natural hole - I hope thatβs right.
Just researched making nest boxes for the wild kings as I have a tonne of suitable timber. Apparently they like them narrow and deep, at least 800mm deep and less than 250mm wide. Those prefered dimensions would make nesting research quite difficult.
The only time Iβve enjoyed working in London is when I saw an absolute flock of parakeets nesting in a couple of trees shame some people see them as pest over here
