I think that some neurodiverse people might find it difficult to discern sarcasm? Just thinking about accessibility here, Brian.
And visually impaired who use a screen reader - so a bit of context might help?

Yes of course in real life situations we should help these people when they have to encounter shopping, travel and medical situations etc etc but I think coming onto BlueSky is an optional activity & I don’t think Brian can shape his social media posts for the complete range of us who might find him

For an increasing number of disabled and long-term ill people who are housebound and isolated, social media like Blue sky provides interaction and engagement with "real life".

I think typing a quick "/s" is very simple and quick and enables more people to engage here.
We want as many people as possible to engage here on bluesky - and understand and appreciate.

If you read my post, I referred to a screen reader - it generates the text as audio. Great for people who can't see (well). If there were a sarcasm emoji, it would be able to say so.

When I was younger I used to be very sarcastic. But in a nice way. Once someone asked me how I was able to come back with something so quickly. Did I practice. I asked if they had a degree. Often they would be BA or BSc. My reply. I am MSc. Master of Sarcasm.
