Indeed, there is confusion between generative and ML; but also I think a large part of the hostility to generative is driven by anger at problems which are arguably economic. If people block those who attempt polite discourse simply because they don't agree, that to me indicates a brittle position.

At the end of the day, all the problems we're dealing with in the creative industry are all interconnected, and are even connected to some outside issues. It's not a problem with a simple solution, wish it was that easy lol. I think the least we can do is stay educated, fact check, and cite sources

- AI data is often biased againsts minorities
- AI training data is private and unvettable
- AI is often confidently wrong

Bsky also claimed not to use posts for AI training, but now their partner likely will. 😒

I think you may be mixing generative AI and machine learning AI together. I do believe that generative AI is an net negative objectively, especially in the creatives industry which I'm actively against as someone getting my way into the games industry, but idk if that's what BlueSky is tryna do here

as a sort of related note-- I think a lot of people, especially in the current "tech climate", seem to get generative AI and machine learning AI confused and because so many modern tech companies are throwing around AI as a buzzword, it's hard to tell nowadays what's actually responsible AI usage.

I'm seeing a lot of comments on different places regarding this topic mentioning mistakes and bias in some regard. Isn't that essentially guaranteed with human reviewers as well? People make mistakes quite often and it's especially clear when looking at other sites and their unbalanced moderation
