That’s both meaningless and performative. Someone who doesn’t buy gas that day in solidarity just buys it the next day.

The only way that works is if people don’t shop for WEEKS at least, preferably MONTHS. A day doesn’t do anything

That's the same everywhere. A) not every American is eligible to vote
B) Not everybody goes voting
C) the way your system works, someone with less overall votes can win an election.. ( Britain has the same flaw.. the Dutch and Germans don't have that problem (we have coalitions as problem!)
