As an American I’m embarrassed for my country and so sorry for the repercussions that will surely play out over the next several years. America got it wrong.
As a Canadian, I’m worried about right now, not several years from now. American’s need to get up, get out, and protest by the millions upon millions. The Dems can not do this alone. That’s my opinion.
I think it just depends on the damage. I'm not even assuming we'll have legitimate elections in 26 at this point.
One thing I know is that the Democrats need to start thinking about how to win actual votes from actual voters whether that is perfectly palatable to urban progressives or not.
Good points, thank you. I write to my maga congresswoman almost daily. Stupid as a bag of hammers. (I'm registered in the only red district in NYC.) But, yeah, Dems need to work on their messaging.
Also - and really most importantly - the Democrats need to believe in something the majority of people care about and stand for it. Stop trying to make everyone happy in every moment and find candidates who can sell big changes people want and will notice.
Of course, the US would betray Estonia, but don't lump the rest of NATO in there. I have faith that there is still decency and loyalty among the rest of Canada's allies!

I have no doubt that Trump has plans (or possibly orders from Moscow) to backstab NATO in case of an invasion into the Baltic states.
As an American, let me say I'm sorry that my country is poised to betray central Europe.
