Dars does excellent Pakistan food. Ravels bistro has a unique kind of charm. Bull and Last for a posh pub night. Southampton Arms is one of the finest pubs on the face of the earth.

Seconded! Proper lush community food. Also lovely to see Gospel Oak on my feed (fun fact noone asked me for, named after an oak tree that marked the parish boundaries of Hampstead and St Pancras, that residents would gather under to hear gospel readings.... I'll get my coat).

Can highly recommend southern Indian* & Sri Lankan food.
Just seen Jamie Oliver showing dosas, but there is so much more. Definitely worth trying (more of) if you have not before.

*North Indian food v different from South Indian. Saying “Indian food” is a bit like saying “British accent”.

In general, that place is a delight: friendly, eclectic, with a real community vibe, doing proper home cooked food. But what I had today was off the scale. I guess halfway between Pakistan and Thai food? That rare feeling that you're tasting flavours you've never encountered before.
