Not for me, Michelin have had a nightmare few years, but (for sponsorship reasons?) there has been little criticism from the paddock

Pirelli will need a year to bed in but will be a step forward in the long term (imo)

And Bridgestone sucked before Michelin. Being a single tyre supplier means everyone blames you.

And the reason you don't hear criticism of some tyre suppliers is because such tyre suppliers have contracts with extremelly large financial penalties for public criticism.

I don't remember all these complaints for Bridgestone. Well, there were plenty, but for making the races tedious to watch for having such a great front tire.

There were just as many complaints about Bridgestone (they were worse, as the highsides were dangerous), but the field was a lot less competitive. Bikes made a bigger difference. Bikes are closer now, so tyres are more important.

A change in tyre supplier nearly always results in a major shakeup, previous track data becomes obsolete and rider performances swing dramatically in either direction. Purely from a fan's perspective, I enjoy the uncertainty it will bring.

Read the story, but I remember when Bridgestone announced they were leaving, Jerez 2014. Up until that time, all riders did was complain about the Bridgestone tyres. Then, literally from one moment to the next, they were full of praise "The've done a fantastic job." Sic transit gloria mundi

It always seems strange to me that they complain about the tyres. A race is won by the team/rider that design and set up a bike that can get those black round things over the line first. The bike needs to adapt to the tyres not the other way around.

The tyres are the one thing they can't control. Makes them both an ideal scapegoat and a deep frustration when they can't get the bike to work with the tyres.

True, but it's the one thing that's the same for every team and so much better that when we had the bridgestone/michelin tyre wars and special tyres for the blessed riders. Hopefully 2027 with new regs and now new tyres might just mix things up a bit.
