But why? Did he think the only thing holding Aprilia back was the lack of his talent? He's more consistent than VIN but not that much more talented. If he doesn't have the patience for a year or two of work at Aprilia, why would he do it at Honda other than to prove he's the new Marquez.

From the outside, it looks like he hopped on it, thought he needed to show everyone he could be fastest straight away, and caused his own problems. Maybe he can look at it after fifty (?) total laps and know it'll never beat the Ducati, but a rookie is riding it to reasonable results already.

This is just so hard to comprehend... it's not like the bike is spitting riders off the moment they so much as look at it sideways (like the Honda of a couple of years ago), so surely he should be backing himself to come to grips with it...?

Getting out of his contract from his side on a non-performance clause when the lack of performance is all down to him is pretty shitty.

Sure, you could argue none of the other Aprilia riders have shown they can compete with Ducati, but 2 are new to the bike and the other is RF.

On one hand, I kinda get it... But on the other, that'll be two major manufacturers he has "burnt" bridges with. What happens if he isn't happy at Honda? Acosta/Martin duo @ KTM?

Then again, maybe Ducati would welcome him back w/ open arms. I have no idea what the relationship is there.

Wow....I mean, it isn't like he has even done ANYTHING on the Aprilia yet (other than crash).

I get it that money talks and bullshit walks...but, I'd be disappointed to see this happen.

What about Zarco on Marini’s bike next year? I heard several times in Le Mans including by Zarco himself when he was meeting with fans in the village that the 2 years deal with Honda was pretty much sealed, I feel like he’s pushing to get the factory seat.Do you think it’s not considered by Honda ?

Zarco definitely thinks this could happen. But I am hearing there is real interest in Martin from Honda. Honda don't gain anything by moving him from LCR to the factory team

Thank you for answering, if it goes that way I hope Zarco’s bruised ego won’t alter his performances. I still think he’d be better in the more family like LCR team and hope he’ll still be top Honda rider whoever gets the other bike !

He is thriving at LCR. He will do well if he stays there. Might take him a little while to get over the disappointment, but he will be fine after that
