Nothing is beyond belief. Trump is a deviant and a psychopath who will destroy America as it exists. The UK and the rest of the west either admit that and fight, or accept the end of democracy.
I mean being called a Dictator by Trump is almost like a badge of honour when u think of all the terms he used to label any of his opponents & any one really who is the leader he never was or will be
Oh no, it's entirely believable - I might find his actions horrific and terrifying and shocking, but they're always believable; there's literally no depth he won't go to, and no lie too big to tell.
But it isn't 'beyond belief' at all.
It's exactly what should have been expected. Democracy hands almost 'absolute power' to an American President & in the wrong hands it's fairly obvious what may happen.
& it is happening.
Old corruption is insidious &,unfortunately, we're just onlookers.
A key aim of Putin has to been to delegitimise the democratically elected Zelensky and the Ukrainian government. He now has the active assistance and connivance of the President of the United States in that effort.
To be honest it's the one thing he shouldn't do. Trump seems to like Starmer and that influence could be one of the few things to break through the pea brained head of Trump's.
I genuinely think so yes. Trump is a moron and changed his mind with the wind. Starmer has a genuine opportunity to affect that. By genuine I meant about 1/10 chance but it's better than nothing. 😅
Starmer would, I think, be better using his time to work on pan-European security and defence. A calculated diplomatic snub from the US's most loyal ally might jolt enough level heads in Washington that they start to rein the administration in. Then again, it might not.
The logic of a trip would be to clarify the future relationship if there is one and to set a timeline for the removal of military bases and personnel if there isn't one
Yes, probably too late for anything that we've already shared with USA in the past two years. We also have to remember that it's not just Trump, he is surrounded (or steered) by people who are more extreme
Putin obviously has a direct line to Trumps head. Trump is incapable of thinking for himself so I wonder who is the intermediary giving him his info. Maybe it is via an app.
So let's get this right .
A president who lost an election, then tried to stage an insurrection, is calling another president a dictator for not holding elections during war time?
Hell, the Ukranian constition doesn't even *allow* Zelensky to call an election as long as there's martial law, and obviously there's going to be martial law for the foreseeable future.
Completely and dangerously unhinged. Are we getting - or will get at some stage - to a point where our own PM and leaders of European countries say, enough. How can we be expected to deal with a leader who openly lies and deliberately spreads misinformation and Kremlin propaganda?
PUTIN IS NOT A DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED LEADER. NOR IS HE THE LEADER OF A DEMOCRACY.
A REAL Democracy does not imprison, persecute and murder dissenters Nor does its "President" MURDER OPPONENTS IN ORDER TO ENSURE ELECTION VICTORY.

But doesn’t make it any less shocking

Let felon fatarse stew in his own fetid nappy for a while.
We need to keep calm and jaw!
But he needs to find out where things lie being closed doors.
It's clearly only a matter of time till the US bases have to go.
More importantly, we need to sever intelligence sharing. Anything the US gets is gonna go straight to Putin.
& not only for the Prime Minister.
The same goes for those here that continue to unquestioningly support his views.

PUTIN IS A MURDEROUS UNDEMOCRATIC DICTATOR.
There's lots. How to find it is another matter.
