The better question is why did more millions of Americans not vote at all? Fewer than 1/3 of registered American voters voted for Trump- the majority of those who didn’t vote Trump didn’t vote at all.

It’s certain that there was direct suppression with the last minute purges and rule changes here in Virginia and elsewhere. Also a lot of people feeling like their votes “don’t count” - and I saw a lot of that being pushed by social media people. Definitely laziness and complacency, too.

I'm not sure. What I find disappointing is that, grading on history's curve, things are good for most people and the West in particular. We are more peaceful and prosperous. Technology improves lives. But greed never sleeps. A few will always take what everyone else has and thereby bring us to ruin.

I agree 100%. I also feel that my being able to have the bandwidth to think about that kind of big-picture analysis, means I am fed, safe, housed, employed, and valued... and absolutely, greed is insatiable. Forever and always.
