Our system is deliberately set up to only have 2 parties. We all want other options because you get a radical right candidate vs a center right candidate in every election. But it is impossible for other parties to get a foothold.
See that same shit trying to say both parties are the same, fucking people being to good to vote has let this country to be taking over by right wing ideas anyone saying anything thing else is part of the fucking problem.
They're not the same. But we don't legitimately have a left in the US because socialism has been demonized by propaganda. You can either browbeat someone like Biden into doing some of the right things or live in fear of fascism from Trump for 4 years while he undoes every tiny good thing Biden did.
like i said by people not voting has push the politics to the right. Time to join your local Dem party so you can have a voice other than when it time to vote.
People are not voting because the politics has pushed to the right. They came out in droves for Biden part 1. They didn't for Harris. Why? Because she abandoned Democratic ideals. You don't get to keep the votes forever if you do nothing for the people. We need additional parties.
They abandoned LGBTQ+ people and took their defense out of policies to appease the center and the bigots. Try and get young people fired up about someone who sees your rights as negotiable. I guarantee that won't play.
We have a Left. Hillary, Biden and Kamala, with Bernie just a slightly nonconforming variant.
Cultural issues are now what matters, no one cares about economic issues because they know nothing ever changes. Too many veto points to change tax/transfer system much.
That is not a left. Bernie is barely left in most European countries. The democrats have been centrists since Bill Clinton. Who gave us such charming legacies as welfare reform and the crime bill. And now every candidate feels compelled to move to the center to win.
We have multiple parties, but third parties are generally mostly irrelevant here. The party membership rolls, the ground work ops and especially the money vehicles for elections are already stacked such that only two parties have the muscle to be national contenders.

I also think ppl need to come to terms with the fact that every system is going to be flawed.
The cycle will always repeat.
