It's interesting when you've clearly stated that an #oss project is opinionated, tailored for my needs only. And the first complaint you get from someone is that it's too opinionated for them to use it... 🤷🏼♂️

agree with @devlead.se here. taking an opinionated approach to solving a problem can deliver significant outcomes in regards to performance, ease of use, and ease of maintenance.
I had an idea for a little project that I thought was quite a useful chunk of code. I didn't even bother making it a package, just a blog post and a repository. Open source enough.
This involved entity framework and source generators, so I knew the weirdos demanding that it match their corporate "best practices" or they'd be very upset they can't use the project vague threats would quickly follow if it did prove as useful as I hoped
People barely read whole social media posts before raging, expecting them to read even just the ingress of a README probably too much to hope for... 🤔😎
I once got an email from an Adobe employee demanding I fix a bug in my FOSS project. I replied that I'd gladly take a PR. They said they didn't have the time. I replied that as they were unsatisfied with the product they should send me their invoice no. and I'd refund them.
