Bambi, when the mother died. I was maybe 3. The first book I read on my own that upset me was A Wrinkle in Time. The boy who bounced the ball out of sync with the others and was tortured by having to do it forever, the ball causing him pain every time it hit his hand.

A Wrinkle in Time was mine. The possessed baby scared the everloving shit out of me. My babysitter had to call my mom to come home early because I was hysterical.
